Our Parent Infant Program Teaches Parents How to Help Their Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children

“Sound Beginnings” is Summit Speech School’s toddler program and includes Parent Support Groups and Parent Education Groups which are a vital part of a program for families who are raising a child with special needs. The program is based on the need for beginning social education.

By coming together at the school, families have the opportunity to share and learn from each other.Children have the chance to learn and practice social skills where their special acoustic needs can be met and their speech understood.

They get to be with their deaf and hard of hearing peers who also wear hearing aids and cochlear implants, which is an important part in developing their own identity.
